Thursday, March 12 FCCLA took a trip to Fairfield for the last section meeting of the year. Alayna White and Kaylee Bullard retired from their section officer positions. Bullard was in charge of the basket raffle with multiple Wayne City winners.
The FCCLA trip started off with a quick stop at Fusion coffee ended in a mishap. FCCLA advisor Laura Miller hit the curb with the activity bus, bending a bolt breaking the door. For the remainder of the trip, the students evacuated the bus through the emergency exit.
Avery Curry said, “The trip was a very fun experience and it was a chance to learn how to lead our community. My favorite part was going to Fusion Coffee before.”
Chris Combs was the guest speaker. It was his first time ever getting up on stage.
White kept a community service power point going on in the background showing glimpses of every section’s service projects.
Bullard was in charge of the basket raffle where winners included Wayne City students Noah Groome, Abbie Young, and Katelyn Catron.
Before the closing ceremony, Sarah Rushing, Gallatin County advisor and state advisor, announced the competitive event winners. Bullard won gold for her preschool lesson. At the end of the meeting, White and Bullard retired from their respective officer positions. They passed a rose down to those coming into the position.
White said, “I have enjoyed my time serving at the Section 9 Vice President of Community Service. The spring meeting was a big finale of the year of service. My favorite part was the catered La Fuente.”
