On Wednesday, Oct. 22, KAS RENTAL INC. provided lunch for the Journalism class members just because they wanted to do so. Journalism students have had a very rough year selling ads to companies with the tough economy, with many companies are unable to purchase this year. The members of the journalism staff were very grateful that KAS RENTAL INC. decided to show this generosity toward the journalism students. Senior Emma Griswold said, ” I thought it was really sweet of them to provide us with lunch.” The Journalism students spent the whole lunch hour eating Greenfield sandwiches, chips, and cookies. The students also shared many laughs and just enjoyed being able to be around each other. The school schedule includes two different class periods for Journalism and four students who complete Journalism independently, so the group enjoyed everyone joining together and hanging out. KAS RENTAL INC. wrote the group a letter explaining the importance of journalism in their son’s high school years and in the influence it had over his future successes. In the letter they said, “Working on the yearbook staff, [our son] developed a great sense of responsibility and attention to detail. He learned teamwork and leadership. We truly believe that without yearbook our son would not be a West Point.” They also encouraged the Wayne City yearbook staff to use “experiences to apply them later down in the road in whatever career you choose.” The Wayne City yearbook staff really appreciates the kindness and generosity of this special advertising partner, and they feel renewed inspiration to keep on working on the yearbook and never give up.
